The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
The USAID program began in Egypt in 1975 with the aim of fostering the economic relationship between the United States and Egypt.
Activities between the two countries include trade in goods and services, capital inflows and significant transfer of aid from the United States to Egypt. Egypt is the second largest recipient of assistance from USAID. The LEAD Foundation receives its main funding from USAID under a Cooperative Agreement first entered into in August 2003.
